Break Free® Enters Bike Market with New Chain Lube Lubricant
JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Safariland, a BAE Systems line of business, announced today that its Break Free® line has released Chain Lube, a high-performance lubricant for bicycles or any chain driven equipment. Utilizing the most advanced lubrication technology, Chain Lube overcomes friction and wear in the most demanding and adverse conditions. Break Free Chain Lube is among several new products introduced as part of the new Safariland Patrol Bike product line.

Safariland® Save Sgt. Randy Crowther Represents Safariland in 2012 Police Unity Tour
JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Safariland, a BAE Systems line of business, is pleased to announce that Sergeant Randy Crowther of the Orem, UT Police Department, and a member of the Safariland® Saves Club®, represented Safariland in the 2012 Police Unity Tour.
Crowther, riding his Safariland/Kona Patrol Bike 29er, left Somerset, NJ with a small group of 300 other officers from the Western United States for the first leg of the tour. This group was part of a much larger assembly of law enforcement officer cyclists who were making the ride to Washington, DC to take part in the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Foundation (NLEOMF) ceremony.

Safariland Introduces Safariland®/Kona® Patrol Bike for Law Enforcement
Safariland®, a BAE Systems line of business, announced today at the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA) Conference that it is introducing a brand new Patrol Bike product line for the law enforcement market. Safariland has teamed with Kona USA, one of the world’s leading all-terrain bicycle manufacturers, to develop the flagship product in the line, the Safariland®/Kona® Patrol Bike 29er. Safariland is supporting this with an integrated line of bike related products from their branded armor, duty gear and protective gear lines to new offerings of bike accessories, including apparel and hardware.

Safariland®/Kona® Patrol Bike Team Participates In 24 Hours at Old Pueblo
Safariland®, a BAE Systems business, participated in the 13th annual Kona® Bikes 24 Hours of Old Pueblo with its new Safariland/Kona Patrol Bike 29er. Held in Tucson, Arizona on February 17-19, 2012, this event is described as the largest 24-hour mountain biking event in the United States. Safariland’s involvement in the ride was focused on testing their law enforcement Patrol Bike to see just how well the 29er would do against the rough and rugged desert environment.

Poised to launch to the market later this year, Safariland used this venue to announce the partnership with world-renowned mountain bicycle manufacturer, KONA, USA, Inc. to offer a premium patrol bike to meet the specific needs of bike patrol officers.
