The Safariland Group Acquires the Med-Eng® Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Crew Survivability Businesses of Allen-Vanguard Corporation
The Safariland Group (the “Company”), a leading provider of safety and survivability products for law enforcement, military, tactical, professional and outdoor markets has acquired the explosive ordnance disposal (“EOD”) and crew survivability (“CS) businesses (the “Businesses”) of Allen-Vanguard Corporation, the leader in customized solutions for defeating terrorist and extremist threats. The Businesses acquired include the Med-Eng® brand of EOD bomb suits and remotely operated vehicles and the crew survivability products include customized blast attenuation seats and thermal management systems. The Businesses are located in Ottawa and Pembroke, Canada and Ogdensburg, New York.

Safariland Introduces the ILS Compact Flashlight Series
Safariland® announced today the release of the Individual Light System (ILS) series flashlights featuring a unique dual output for an instantaneous switch from low to high light on standard alkaline batteries. An extension of the popular RLS™ (Rapid Light System) light, the new ILS collection is comprised of two hand-held models - the ILS-1 and ILS-2. The ILS-1 is a mini hand-held light with an integral clip that can easily attach to any belt or garment while the ILS-2 is a longer hand-held light with a pocket clip for easy carry.

New XCAT Handheld Detection System for Immediate Narcotics, Explosives and GSR Detection by Forensics Source™
Forensics Source™ announced today that they are now offering the XCAT Capillary Analysis Test, by RedXDefense®. The XCAT is a handheld detection system that offers immediate narcotics, explosives and gunshot residue (GSR) detection. This system features automated, one-step detection of narcotics, GSR and homemade/high explosives. Designed for detecting suspicious drugs and other substances on hands, vehicles, packages and surfaces, the XCAT is intended for presumptive testing.

Safariland® Expands 7TS Holster Series with ALS®/SLS and SLS Models
Safariland® announced today the expansion of the all new 7TS™ Holster Series. Initially launched in ALS® (Automatic Locking System) models, nine new duty and tactical holsters are now available in the combination ALS®/SLS (Self Locking System) and in SLS-only retention models. 7TS holsters feature a patent-pending design which strengthens the holster body. This unique design allows the holsters to be constructed of SafariSeven™, a proprietary DuPont™ nylon blend. SafariSeven offers enhanced heat and cold tolerances, making it almost impervious to the elements and is highly durable, extremely lightweight and impact-resistant.

Safariland® Congratulates Winners of 2013 MGM Ironman 3 Gun Match
Safariland® Congratulates Team Safariland members Mike Voigt and Maggie Reese who won the Open class and Iron Maiden classes, respectively, at the 2013 MGM Ironman 3 Gun Tournament June 2-8 in Parma, Idaho. As one of the most grueling three-day matches in the circuit, competitors shot more than 1,000 rounds to complete the ten stages of fire. Additional shooters competing with Safariland equipment also placed high in the ranks. Travis Gibson achieved a close second in the Open class and Mark Hanish took the Scoped Tactical class Championship. Safariland also congratulates Barry Dueck for once again winning the Heavy Metal class which was followed closely by Mark Hanish.
