1964 – Launch of Safariland, LTD. From a small garage operation to a fullmanufacturing facility, 1964 officially launched"Internationally Famous" Safariland, Ltd., with NealePerkins as founder and president.

1970's – Safariland Ballistics Inc. SBI is formed and is the first company to successfully design and sell commercially viable armor product using a then neew material called Kevlar®.

1975 – Holster Security Levels are introduced and changed the industry forever.

1983 – PROTECH® is founded.

1985 – Team Safariland, Pioneers the promotion and use of professional shooting teams to research and test new product designs.

1996 – ISO 9001 Standard first in industry to Achieve this type of ISO Certification.

1999 – Model 6004, Tactical holster sets Standard for all future tactical holsters.

2004-2007 – Leading Brands add to legacy – Bianchi International®, ODV™, B-Square®, KleenBore® and HIATT Handcuff.

2007 – Voted best Armor – Second Chance®.

2012 – The Safariland Group, emerges and becomes one company with 21 brands and counting.

1969 – American Body Armor⊃ is born. Established as the high-performance standard in hybrid-engineered, concealable body armor for both men and women, ABA quickly became the premier brand throughout the law enforcement community.

1970 – LAPD adopts Safariland's buckeless™ belt system, other Police Departments soon follow.

1976 – 1st recorded Safariland Save. Dick Sheehan was on patrol in 1976 when he surprised burglars. One of the men shot Sheehan twice in the back with a .22 rifle. Sheehan was protected by his Safariland vest.

1985 – Safariland acquires Rogers Holsters, Entrepreneur Bill Rogers continues to work with and innovate key The Safariland Group products today.

1986 – First Level III Retention™ duty holster launched - Safariland SSIII.

1996-2003 – Unification under Armor Holdings®. Armor Holdings is born and prospers after a series of acquisitions of industry leading, American Body Armor®, Defense Technologies®, Safariland®, Identicator®, Hatch®, Break Free®, Monadnock®, Speedfeed® and PROTECH®

2005 – Second Chance Body Armor joins Armor Holdings, LLC.

2006 – ALS® is introduced. The new system provides an internal locking mechanism which allows for ergonomically advanced draw using the thumb and forefinger. Over 10 million models have been sold.

2007 – Save 1000; James Van Alstine.

2013 – SBI International launches, out of acquisition of Arveka.

2013 – The legacy continues with additions of new brands; Mustang Survival®, Med-Eng® and Tactical Command Industries (TCI™).
