Advanced Bicycle Operations from Americas Top Training Provider
This is an advanced bicycle operations class that covers offensive and defensive tactics, enforcement tactics for urban and rural settings, crowd management and instructor development including on-line resources. A portion will also be focused on increasing bicycle safety in your community including bicycle rodeos. This course promises to bring new ideas and strategies to your existing bicycle programs and is appropriate for line or supervisory personnel who ride.
Safariland Training Group is proud to introduce the Advanced Bicycle Patrol Operations & Train the Trainer course. This course was designed for personnel who already have a basic skill level in bicycle operations and are looking to increase their skills and capabilities utilizing bicycles. The class will address tactics and strategies in dealing with compliant and non-compliant protests and demonstrations. It will also include a classroom workshop addressing ways to outreach to your communities to increase bicycle safety utilizing government programs and resources. We focus on developing the student’s instructor skills. This course promises to bring new ideas and strategies to your existing bicycle programs and is appropriate for line or supervisory personnel who ride.
Troy Gielish has over 20 years of experience working in Los Angeles and Orange County, running bicycle operations throughout his career. He has trained hundreds of sworn, civilian and military personnel throughout the country. His previous assignments include S.W.A.T. and DEA’s High-risk Entry and Apprehension Team (HEAT). He is a P.O.S.T. and I.P.M.B.A. certified instructor. He is also a former member of the U.S. National Cycling Team and recipient of the Medal of Valor. Course Benefits
Each attendee must be physically fit for duty and able to perform the physical skills associated with tactical applications with the use of this product. The Safariland Training Group trains only sworn law-enforcement officers, correctional personnel, state-licensed security personnel or active military personnel.
- A properly functioning and appropriate sized mountain bike
- Pack to carry tools, spare inner tubes, hand-pump or C02 cartridge
- Full uniform, ballistic vest and duty belt
- Hydration: Water bottle or hydration pack
- Safety equipment: Helmet, gloves, shatter proof glasses
- Students must be in good physical condition and possess basic bicycle operation skills
